A 32-year-old woman named Nooria, mother of four, died in Taywara district, Ghor province, after being severely beaten and burned with heated metal rods by her husband during a family dispute. Her husband admitted to the killing and surrendered to Taliban authorities. The attack occurred in front of the couple's four young children. Women's rights activists noted the case reflects the dismantling of legal protections for women under Taliban rule, including the elimination of EVAW-related institutions, shelters, and specialized prosecutors.

The record is what reached us and passed review. Thin coverage in a province reflects reporting conditions and access as much as the underlying situation, and absence of incidents is not evidence of absence of violations. No figure here is a national total.
