The Taliban's provincial Directorate for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has reportedly shut down all private educational centres in Parun, Nuristan. It sent letters ordering them to close and asked owners to report with their operating licences. Sources say the centres had earlier been warned several times not to expand English-language education.
