The National Resistance Front confirmed that two of its commanders, Shamsuddin and Baba, were killed in a Taliban ambush in the Charsai area of Nahrin district, Baghlan province. The Taliban separately reported killing four NRF members in the same area. Both commanders had been active in the resistance against the Taliban for five years.

Taliban forces detained two young men — Amrullah (17) and Salam (19) — in the mountains between Khost district (Baghlan) and Worsaj district (Takhar), then shot and killed them. The NRF's political committee confirmed the victims were civilians, not resistance members. After the killings, Taliban forces poured acid on the bodies and publicly displayed them in markets in Khost district, Baghlan. The bodies were later returned to relatives.
